20 Year Sentence For Australian Schappelle Corby Reduced.
Schappelle Corby sentenced to 20 years in prison after being caught with over 4 kg of Marijuana in her bag in Bali has had her sentence reduced by 5 years
It seems that the Indonesians may have begun to comprehend the term “worldwide media coverage” and have thus reduced the sentence for Corby.
Growing media attention to the severe sentences being handed down in some of these countries has caused them to think twice before executing some westerners caught with drugs.
The prosecutor in Corby’s case believes she should have at least, got life in prison.

Schappelle Corby’s case was interesting in that there seemed to be reasonable doubt as to her guilt.
Of course “reasonable doubt” is not at term given much consideration in a corrupt system such as the Indonesian Justice System .
Its hard to beleive that Schapelle Corby got 20 years and the wanker Bali Bomber who master-minded the first bomb blasts in Bali got out in months.
Schappelle Corby hasn’t hurt anyone, and is most probably innocent - But to date, she will be in prison for 15 or so years.

Schappelle Corby sits in a Balinese Cell at present waiting to hear the outcome of talks between her goverment and the Indonesian Government for a prisoner exchange scheme. These “talks” are likely to come to naught as Corby’s lawyers no-doubt know.
Corby is seeking an appeal of her sentence, which does carry a risk. It is likely the Authorities will again seek the death penalty, which in Indonesian Law can be re-applied after an un-sucessful appeal.
Drug smuggler or not, I can’t help but feel sorry for Schappelle Corby. One thing is for certain… I ain’t going back to Bali again.
